Forget this application. After 6 days of struggle (I even had to uninstall MailChimp due to conflicts), and after receiving 22 emails from 6 different guys (Chris, Corey and Brendin did not even know what Alan, Mohammad and Bhumi were doing on the same ticket - unbelievable), I finally uninstalled the application.
Call center can not start a new membership. Not workable for us.
Carter was very helpful! He provided excellent support, guidance, and helped answer all my questions.
Kelsey was super helpful in allowing me to troubleshoot my access! The only thing that would make this app better would be to have an integration with my email system, so I don't have to export each member individually.

Fast responsive, friendly, and quite painless communications. BOLD development team was able to quickly custom install both BOLD apps for my Shopify site. I am as yet to try out the functionality of the apps but so far, 5 stars on customer supports!
Marty did a great job, he installed the liquid code within minutes of me requesting it.
Unfortunately, the app is not what I was looking for. It is missing some key features like being able to define a few options for the different types of memberships or the ability to charge a one-time set-up fee for a membership. Too bad...

I have not implemented the membership offering yet, but I did get everything set up tonight with Brysen. He went above and beyond what my expectations were to make sure that not only things looked how I wanted but were in the proper places also. He was kind and patient with me and I couldn't be more grateful!

Customer service has been non-responsive. Live chat seems to rarely be an option. The app just doesn't seem to work. They set it up, and didn't provide with confirmation that it was completed (even though they said they would). However, I DO see where they installed the liquid. I go through their guides step by step. I sent myself a free membership as a test. I simply got an email where it says I have a free membership. NO other details. There is no place for me to update the wording. Even though I have a free membership, it doesn't recognize it and it's prompting me to pay. Nothing is working. Anyone can access the products. I have reached out several times with no response. I just need to find another app.

There is a long way to go to make this app the go-to membership app for Shopify, but the prerequisites are all there due to the Bold team's great openness, availability, and support capabilities. I recommend using it also as an app to invest everyone in so as to make it the app that all Shopify merchants would like to have to start a Membership program on their stores. I hope Bold Membership will grow in the way the assumptions suggest.

I launched my website a few days ago and the discount price appears on the cart but when people go to checkout the member price is not there but just the regular price. My customers are complaining and I needed help ASAP. BTW THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED.
Although I was worried about my English, I managed to publish my plan.

Solved a big issue in my membership program I have for my site. I use a few different apps and this is one of them, this allows me to charge monthly for my membership. A little confusing to get set up properly, but with some patience and a lot of help from Bold's customer support who was very helpful, it works pretty well right now. Would definitely recommend it if looking for a solution to your membership vision

Terrible app, generates a lot of problems with customers that they make a PayPal claim and after many cases, your paypal account finishes banned.

I would personally avoid if you can. Not quite sure how it has such great reviews... Not only is the customer support terribly slow but the app does not even allow you to use your themes checkout. It instead creates an unsightly checkout experience with way too many steps involved thus reducing the likelihood of a customer even purchasing a plan.
READ BEFORE INSTALLING - Information is power. If you value the time and energy put into your membership program look for another app. We've had a crippling tech issue with Bold Membership for over a week with no resolution or communication to update the status. Luckily we are in a beta test phase so aren't dealing with hundreds of furious customers who cannot access the membership they paid for due to the membership access page not loading due to a coding glitch with the app. If we were up and running at full capacity our business and reputation would effectively be in the gutter and all progress was undone.
Also, be informed that when someone signs up for a membership using the Bold Membership app plug-in a new order in Shopify is not created therefore will not trigger certain automation that really leverages the efficiencies the Shopify platform offers.

Thanks for responding back. At this point of time, I have no idea of what could be causing this but several other merchants have reported this and that is why this was escalated to our developers. Bold Commerce Merchant Success
That was September 17 and we have heard nothing since meanwhile our entire business is hanging in limbo. Clearly, their prioritization of issues in the Bold Membership app isn't as pressing as other issues in their more popular apps.
Their customer support has always been very helpful and this isn't a reflection of their customer support agents as they are just the middle people.
Also, what got my attention initially when researching membership apps was the number of positive reviews the app had compared to competitors. However, after installing the app and working with their customer support on numerous smaller issues it became apparent how they had amassed so many positive reviews. On at least two occasions I can recall they concluded our live chats by saying a statement like "we are having a contest to see which customer support agent can get the most positive reviews, will you leave a review?" In good faith, most people will leave a positive review.
All the information provided above is factual therefore use it to advise your judgment to partner with Bold Memberships.
[UPDATE] Immediately after posting this review their Sr. Lead of Merchant Success contacted me attempting to rectify the situation. My response is below:

After 3 days of waiting for the first response, a guy from support named "Bhumi" responded, I literally replied to him in minutes, after that he replied back in 2 days... I need fast support because this App is not working and not showing content for members only and they keep unsubscribing.
Every time I need help the support team, specially Naman have been very helpful and diligent. Thank you!

Naman was very helpful with my issues! I wish there were a few more bells and whistles on the app, but overall it gets the job done and the customer service is good.
Aryan has been a great help so far in setting up my store. My site has not launched yet, but looking forward to it being fully functioning.
Mayank was AMAZING on helping me set up Bold Memberships. We are still in Beta mode, so I have not fully tested the functionality but customer service has been very good. I live in EST and have found later in my work day yields the quickest chat responses.
I used the service to help with embedding the membership widget. Naman was extremely helpful, patient, and courteous. He walked me through the steps, then helped me evaluate the success. Very pleased customer!
Kelsey was very helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend Bold Memberships to anyone that's looking for similar services.
Functionality is great, but their service is even more impressive (Mayank is phenomenal!). Highly recommend!

I used the app to create a members only area of my store/blog. Marty and the Bold team took care of it for me and set everything up perfectly!
Just downloaded the app and had a few questions. I started a web chat and Naman went over and above to answer my queries. Great Customer Support.
I decided to utilize this for my Shopify store to add a membership area and had a few questions after set up (which was really easy). I contacted support by chat and Priyanka and Bhumi were amazing at helping. What started as one question turned into a half dozen from me and they offered assistance with each one without hesitation and in a way that was really easy for me to understand. My only wish for the app would be that we were able to create different thank you / success of registration pages for each plan....but I'm sure that may be something that expands upon in the future. (wink wink development team). So happy I decided on this one after much research.
UPDATE: I had to contact chat again the following day and was connected to Naman who was amazing as well! I was given excellent and clear instructions on how to do something that was a bit 'out of the ordinary'. I can't say enough good stuff about their customer service team!!
Love the app – it turns out there are some conflicts with page builders (specifically PageFly) which is a bummer, but Carter and Bhumi from the customer service department helped me figure out a workaround, and were extremely helpful and patient as we figured out a solution together. Their customer service is genuinely unparalleled – I'd rather have a workaround that isn't quite what I envisioned and have this level of customer service than use any other app.

App is very useful for creating memberships! My store uses multiple tiers of yearly memberships, and Bold Memberships has met my needs for customer tagging and is easy to add as well! Customer support has been fantastic as well, Naman from Bold support helped change back end areas to customize my store!
Do not use this program or any other program by BOLD. They had a glitch in the system and unsubscribed all my monthly subscribers. Over 80 members to be exact and 8 months of work down the drain. Not to mention zero support from these people. I’m taking legal actions against this company for the financial damage they caused me.
